It’s Friday, the sun is shining, and my best friend had her baby yesterday! I’d love nothing more than to kick back and celebrate all that goodness, but that’ll have to wait for the time being because there’s too much to get done around here (see #4). So, for the sake of my To Do list, let’s skip the lengthy intro and get right into today’s Friday Favorites / Five on Friday / Oh Hey! Friday post:
ONE – Since returning from the States, I’ve totally neglected my nails. I decided this week that I needed to show them some TLC, so I picked up three new gorgeous Essie shades that are perfect for fall: Chinchilly, Bordeaux, and Buy Me a Cameo.
These colors and this gorgeous handmade pompom beanie by Provision Shop have officially sent me into full-swing autumn mode, even if the temperatures aren’t exactly as chilly as usual around here!
PS – you should totally check out Provision Shop on Etsy and Instagram. I wrote all about how I was crushing on her beanies way back in January and now that I finally have one of my own I plan on wearing it all. day. every. day.
TWO – Anyone who knows me knows I’m pretty low key and am not necessarily into the night club, drink ’til your sick and dance ’til you drop scene. I mean, I love to dance when the music is right and I certainly love to have a few drinks every now and then, but I’d much prefer a low-key dinner with friends than a loud, noisy night spent screaming to be heard over the music in some packed bar or club.
With that being said, one of my dearest friends had a birthday this past weekend which meant a celebration was in order. Luckily for me, the birthday girl is a lot like me and wasn’t feeling the idea of a wild night. We ended up having what I would classify as the perfect girls’ night out: we laughed, we chatted, we drank wine, and we devoured an obscene amount of sushi.
PS – If you’re in the Toulouse area and you love sushi, I give Zen-Sai two thumbs up!
We tried to take a selfie on the walk home, but it was too dark outside so the picture was hideous. I did take a picture of the sushi though, so that’ll have to do:
THREE – My little sister is getting married in a little over a week in Charleston, South Carolina and I’m going to miss it. This is the second sibling wedding I’ve missed in less than a year and it breaks my heart. There are definitely some downsides to living across the Atlantic and not being able to jet off to the States for big family events is definitely one. Wishing I could be there for my baby sis, but I’ll be there in spirit. Heck, I’ll also be galavanting around Charleston in spirit ’cause heaven knows I would’ve loved another getaway to Charleston!
FOUR – Fall break is upon us which means T-minus 5 days until we’re wheels up for Argentina. While les enfants are getting some QT with their French grandparents in Bordeaux, I’ll be accompanying my husband on a business trip to Buenos Aires and El Calafate!
I’m trying to get packed, which is proving to be quite the task given that we’ll be in two different climates with spring temperatures in Buenos Aires and then with highly varying temperatures and conditions in El Calafate. Here are a few of the outfits I’ve packed so far:
Casual and comfy with my favorite utility shirt – Perfect for days with lots of walking, biking, and other activities
Layers for cold, unpredictable weather in Patagonia – Basic neutrals combined to stay warm
*Note- I’m totally doing a happy dance over here at the thought of cold weather so I can sport that Provision Shop beanie I was going on and on about about up in #1.
Sleek and sophisticated for dinner – A form-fitting black dress for the Gala
FIVE– I saw this on Instagram this week and had to screen shot it, because it felt like me….
Alrighty, that wraps up today’s Friday Favorites. For the record, I’ll probably be MIA around here for the next two weeks because I don’t anticipate getting much writing done during our travels, but I’ll be back as soon as I can. In the meantime, hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
