1 – FAUX-LEATHER & BUCKET BAGS : If you follow me on Instagram, then you got a sneak peak of this OOTD earlier this week. You are following me on Insta, right? Because if not, you should definitely fix that, like pronto 🙂 Anyways, today I wanted to share this look in its entirety because I’m a huge fan.
You might remember my hunt for a black leather jacket back in the fall. I guess you could say that I’m finally starting to embrace the leather-loving part of me that was hidden away for so long.
As I explained last week, I was selected to hunt out my favorite looks from Leclerc Blagnac‘s fashion department. When it came time to pick an outfit for this week, I had a total coup de cœur for this beige faux-leather jacket! It’s a great transition piece that I’m sure will be getting a lot of wear as spring approaches. Here’s a similar one from Express.
I coupled the jacket with a thin brown knit sweater from Leclerc, my favorite skinny jeans, and my Lucky Brand Eller Booties. For my accessories, I opted for a layered necklace because well, I’ve got a thing for layered necklaces. I love this one and this one!
To finish off the look, I added a trendy faux-suede fringed bucket bag from Leclerc.
2 – NATIONAL TOAST DAY : Somehow I missed the memo that National Toast Day was this week. Yes, that’s a thing now apparently. Anyways, in light of this fabulous holiday, my Insta feed started blowing up with pictures of toast and I’ve been craving it ever since. I mean, look at that?! How can you not want to devour every last bit of that glorious, colorful toast!?
3 – SCHOOL VACAY : Here in France, the kids get a two week break from school every six weeks. We are currently in the middle of les vacances de ski. We’ll be heading to Arcachon in a few days, but this first week was pretty low key. We stayed around the house, the kids played, worked in their cahiers de vacances, and made me up my coffee intake quite a bit.
We also ventured out to Decathlon to pick up a few things and to get some information for Leilani’s birthday party. Decathlon is a huge sporting good store and it’s like paradise for the kids.
Leilani, unlock her mother, loves to rollerblade and ice-skate . She keeps saying she wants a skateboard for her birthday, but I admit that I’m a little hesitant. I just keep picturing her getting her teeth knocked out or breaking her arm. Nonetheless, while we were at Decathlon this week, we decided to let her test out a skateboard.
She’d never actually tried before…
But she totally nailed it.
Même pas peur!
She also enjoyed playing on this odd scooter thing that I almost busted my face on. Yet again, she made it look so easy! When it comes to her love affair with skating and all things related thereto, it’s hard to believe she’s my child…
Aston’s been loving his down time, too. Leilani’s been showing him lots of attention. She even taught him how to play Go Fish.
Nonetheless, as much he’s enjoying his time off school, Aston just can’t seem to wrap his head around the fact that school is closed. Every single day at meal time, he asks if he’s going to school the following day. I then proceed to re-explain that it’s school vacation, at which point he gets all worked up and declares that he wants to go to school.
One day this week, we grilled out hamburgers for lunch. This is a big treat for the kids and Aston, in particular, looooves burgers. Here’s what happened when I responded no to his daily query about if he was going to school the following day…
He started bawling, genuinely distraught because he wanted to go to school so badly. Apparently, however, he loved his burger to the point that he wasn’t willing to stop eating long enough to express his disappointment. Call me twisted, but this picture cracks me up! I call it Mouth Full of Burger, Face Full of Tears.
4 – TRUFFLES, AGAIN : Remember that Healthy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffle recipe I shared back for Valentine’s Day. Did you make them? If not, you seriously need to.
Rather than my usual dark chocolate square, I’ve been eating two truffles every night and they’ve kind of been rocking my world.
I’m so obsessed that when I got down to my last two truffles, I had to make another batch…like, tout de suite.
Hint: After you coat your truffles in chocolate and let it harden, put them in an airtight container in the freezer. Pop out a few truffles, let them thaw ever so slightly, and then enjoy.
5 – FOR REAL, THOUGH:
