Is it just me or is it hard to believe it’s already November? Time flies! Speaking of which, I know you guys just now turned your clocks back, but our time changed about three weeks ago. We “Fall back” two weeks earlier than the USA and “Spring forward” two weeks later. Despite our head start, I’m still adjusting to the fact that it’s dark here by 6:15pm. Can you imagine living in northern Sweden where they get as little as 3 hours of sunlight a day during the winter? I just don’t know how they do it…
But on to more fun things, like today’s Five on Friday/ Oh Hey Friday! / Friday Favorites…
1 – OUTFIT CRUSH : Fall is in full swing here and I’m loving it. I just can’t get enough of the burnt oranges, dark greens, deep mustard yellows, and rusty burgundies. I guess you could say that when it comes to Fall hues, I’m completely accro. It goes without saying then, that when I ran across this sweater a few weeks ago in a store here, I couldn’t resist. The color just screams hello Fall!
I paired my sweater with a hooded puffer vest and some ankle boots and loved the combination.
Here’s a cheap H&M option that would look great under a puffer vest, or you could try one of the sweaters below:
As for the puffer vest, I picked mine up from H&M last season and love it. I particularly love the color and the hardware and the fact that it has a hood that you can leave out or zip in. Plus, there’s a faux fur lining around the neck which helps keep you warm on those crisp Fall mornings. Zara also has a cute puffer vest that’s army green and a similar style.
2 – BANANA CHOCOLATE CHIP BREAKFAST COOKIES – I ran across this recipe over at Sally’s Baking Addiction and decided to whip them up for the kids for breakfast this week. YUM! Every energy-packed bite delivers that delicious almond butter and banana flavor combination that I’m addicted to. I added sliced almonds as suggested and loved the occasional crunch that they gave to an otherwise perfectly soft and chewy cookie.
The best part about these cookies is that they are super easy to make and are pretty darn healthy: whole grain, gluten-free, vegan, no added refined sugar, no oil, no butter, and 100% clean-eating. CONTINUE READING
